Before joining HBO, Ms. Eisenberg found success as an associate at Proskauer Rose LLP in New York from 1976 to 1980. It was her first role as a legal professional following law school. Looking toward the future, Ms. Eisenberg aspires to be a role model for students and professionals.
Along with her legal services, Ms. Eisenberg has been actively engaged in higher education for over a decade. From 2015 to 2022, she taught entertainment law as an adjunct professor at the Cardozo School of Law in New York City. Moreover, Ms. Eisenberg has been a board member for the Fashion, Art, Media, and Entertainment program (FAME) at Cardozo School of Law since 2016. She notably served on the Hillel Columbia/Barnard College board from 2012 to 2015.
In preparation for her illustrious career, Ms. Eisenberg earned a License en Droit, with honors, from the Université Libre de Bruxelles in 1975 and a Master of Laws at Columbia University in 1976. She is an active member of the New York State bar. Ms. Eisenberg remains affiliated with several prominent professional organizations as a testament to her success, including the New York City Bar Association, and the Copyright Society of the USA.
Throughout her career, Ms. Eisenberg has been recognized numerous times for her expertise. She was honored with inclusion in Best Lawyers in America in 2024 and was featured in Modern Counsel in 2017. She also received several accolades, including the Global Counsel Intellectual Property Team Award by the International Law Office and Association of Corporate Counsel in 2016 and the Wonder Woman Award for Highest Achievement in the Cable TV & Telecommunications Industry by Women in Cable Telecommunications in 2013. In recognition of her other accomplishments, Ms. Eisenberg was a 2012 finisher in the Westchester, New York, County Triathlon and was honored with the Top Women Achievers Award by the Young Women's Christian Association of New York City in 2012.
Ms. Eisenberg lives in New York City with her husband Richard Mellen. She has three children (Joshua Mellen, Alex Mellen and Ruby Mellen) and four grandchildren.
