He has been past treasurer with the Assembly of Turkish American Associations, past president of the Ataturk Society of America, past president to the Turkish American Association of Arizona, past board member to the American Turkish Association of DC and Turkish American Friendship Society of the US, and a founder of the Turkish American Association of Harrisburg, PA.
Mr. Edib's commitment to community service has been evident through various roles, including founding the ATACARES organization, working to find "Community Acquired Resources for Educational Success" in 2024. He has been a board member of the Western Montgomery County Citizen's Advisory Board for Montgomery County, Maryland, since 2019, a Panel Chair to the Commission of Common Ownership Community since 2024, and president of his HOA since 2009. Mr. Edib was active throughout his college career as a volunteer paramedic and as a volunteer with the American Red Cross, as an Instructor Trainer Educator for safety services, including lifeguard training.
Mr. Edib, son of Selma Safak, was born in The Bronx, NY, and currently resides in Rockville, Maryland. He is married to Melek (Demircan) of Ankara, Turkey. Their son is a mechatronics engineer, and their daughter is a licensed counselor.
