Ms. Sarrow's diverse experiences have also led her to roles outside the traditional art world, including positions as an insurance broker at True Path Financial and Insurance Services and a financial representative at Northwestern Mutual.
Ms. Sarrow's academic background has been instrumental in her success. She received a Bachelor of Arts from Truman State University in 1991, followed by a Master of Arts in art history, American and contemporary art from The Ohio State University in 1994. Ms. Sarrow took on the position of a visual resources library assistant at Emory University before returning to her own education to earn her Master of Fine Arts in painting from the Pratt Institute in 2003. She also shared her painting knowledge as an undergraduate teaching assistant at the Pratt Institute and has given art history lectures at San Diego State University.
Beyond her professional achievements, Ms. Sarrow is deeply involved in civic associations that reflect her commitment to social justice and community engagement. She has served as a board member and graphic designer for the Sherman Oaks Chamber Foundation since 2019, where she utilizes her skills in Facebook marketing to support community initiatives. As the marketing director and previous vice president for SHE IS HOPE LA, Ms. Sarrow has played a crucial role in empowering single mothers through employment and entrepreneurship. Her leadership as president of the artHYPE Foundation since 2018 showcases her dedication to promoting environmentally conscious artists devoted to social justice and teaching art skills to children and adults.
A deep appreciation marks Ms. Sarrow's personal life for relaxation, traveling, and spending quality time with her family, including her husband and two sons. Looking ahead, she aspires to write a monograph for Walt Wali Neil that will contribute significantly to art historical discourse.
