Recruited from GE Appliances, Mr. Hombroek's career included several significant contributions where he held various roles, including as a regulatory manager from 2013 to 2015, execution leader for home laundry between 2011 and 2012, platform leader for home laundry from 2008 to 2011, and program manager for new product development for the profile brand Side-by-Side between 2003 and 2008. Beyond his corporate roles, Mr. Hombroek has an extensive and commendable military background, having served both as an active-duty naval officer between 1989 and 2000 and as a naval reserve officer between 2001 and 2017. He held numerous roles as an officer such as Combat Systems officer of USS Caron, Commanding Officer of Amphibious Squadron detachment Eight, and Chief Staff Officer of US Fleet Forces Maritime Operations Center, Greensboro and retired as commander with 28yrs of total service.
Mr. Hombroek's success can be attributed to a solid foundation in education and personal influences that shaped his early interest in engineering and leadership. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in nuclear engineering from the University of Florida in 1988. Additionally, Mr. Hombroek received certification as a Six Sigma master black belt.
Mr. Hombroek's leadership extends beyond his professional duties into significant industry involvement. Most notably, he has served as the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers deputy chair, demonstrating his commitment to advancing industry standards and practices. Outside of his career, Mr. Hombroek is deeply involved in various extracurricular activities and associations that reflect his commitment to community service. He actively participates in local volunteer activities and various other veterans' organizations.
Throughout his career, Mr. Hombroek has been honored with having 19 U.S. patents granted by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He has also been recognized for his service by being decorated with a Meritorious Medal, four U.S. Navy Commendation Medals, three Navy Achievement Medals and various other campaign and unit awards.
