Since 2023, Mr. Byman has served as the manager of strength and conditioning at WWE, where he, in conjunction with the performance and medical teams, is responsible for overseeing the physical development and injury prevention programs for athletes. His expertise in evaluating athletes, sports science and performance testing has been instrumental in enhancing athlete longevity and development. Prior to his current role, Mr. Byman was a performance manager at Exos from 2021 to 2023, where he honed his skills in building athletes to their peak performance levels.
Mr. Byman's career also includes significant contributions to Major League Baseball (MLB). He was the head complex strength and conditioning coach from 2016 to 2021 and was the head strength and conditioning coach in the MLB Arizona Fall League in 2019. Also in 2019, Mr. Byman began consulting for Booz Allen Hamilton as a founding member of their Tactical Athlete Leadership Board, where he and other industry experts assist military leadership with improving training and development of soldiers. His earlier roles include being a strength and conditioning graduate assistant at the University of Florida from 2014 to 2016 and a performance intern at Exos in 2014. During his collegiate years at North Carolina State University from 2009 to 2013, Mr. Byman balanced his responsibilities as a student-athlete with his work as a strength and conditioning coach and manager at several private facilities.
Mr. Byman's commitment to his profession is further demonstrated by his active membership in industry-related organizations such as the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa). His dedication to professional growth is evident through his numerous certifications, including those from the NSCA, CSCCA, ALTIS, Frans Bosch Systems, Functional Range Conditioning, the International Society for Advancement of Kinanthropometry and USA Weightlifting.
Building upon his professional achievements, Mr. Byman's educational background laid the foundation for his success. He earned a master's degree in applied physiology, kinesiology and human performance from the University of Florida in 2015 and a Bachelor of Science in sport management from North Carolina State University in 2013. His academic pursuits were complemented by certifications that have kept him at the forefront of his field.
Outside of his professional life, Mr. Byman is proud of the various charities the WWE supports and has been recognized with accolades, such as being named the Strength Coach of the Year by the Pittsburgh Pirates and an NCAA Scholar Athlete by North Carolina State University. In addition to his career aspirations, Mr. Byman enjoys spending quality time with friends and family, being near water and exploring the outdoors.
