He also holds a Master of Education from the same institution. In recognition of his achievements, he has been featured and interviewed by several media outlets and was a finalist for the Florida State University Margery McKinnon Writing Award.
An active member of various industry-related organizations, Mr. Weihmuller's affiliations include the Tampa Jazz Club, the Florida Music Educators Association, the National Association for Music Educators, the Music and Entertainment Industry Educators Association and Phi Beta Lambda Honorary Music Association. He is also actively involved with civic-minded organizations such as the National Federation for the Blind and Lighthouse for the Blind.
Despite being born with a genetic eye condition that caused him to lose his sight at a young age, Mr. Weihmuller has never let his disability hinder his love for music. He has been able to navigate both education and his professional career through the support of family members and mentors, especially the renowned blind jazz pianist Marcus Roberts, who took Mr. Weihmuller under his wing while he was studying at Florida State University.
Mr. Weihmuller's commitment to creating an inclusive environment for music performance and education stands out as one of his most notable achievements. He has successfully encouraged individuals to transform perceived disadvantages into strengths, a skill that he has taught by example in pursuing his dreams despite his lack of sight.
In his personal life, Mr. Weihmuller enjoys being an avid sports fan, biking and playing poker. He aspires to gain recognition as a university-level music educator while pursuing his passion for performing. He intends to fulfill the latter passion by releasing his first album in the upcoming years, a project he has already begun work on in collaboration with several other notable artists.
