RIDGEFIELD PARK, NJ, December 27, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- A first step is to redefine the most crucial words to enlighten their true implication and application in life by researching and cross referencing the meaning of the most important words from science, especially neuroscience and neurobiology, philosophy, religion, culture, tradition etc.---
The latest neuroscience is confirming that the Holy Scriptures have the last (scientific) word on the 'word'. The Bible clearly explains the true significance of words. It says that God is the Word and that the Word is God. So it is critically essential for humanity to understand and define each and every word as close to its true meaning as possible.
There is no other word as important as man. If we can get the definition of man right we can then take steps to make each human being as close to the meaning/purpose of man as possible.
The correct path to the education of man stems directly from the true meaning of man!
The Bible is telling us that man is made in the image of God; where God Himself is the Word. So Wisdom is God and God is Wisdom. It means that man is wisdom. No wonder current wisdom education is a failure because we do not make man become wisdom, we try to teach/educate man with the knowledge of wisdom. What current wisdom education does is that man remains physically unwise and man gets educated with the knowledge of wisdom. Cross referencing this with the latest neuroscience it is clear in science terms that making man into wisdom means making the physical brain as free of all emotional baggage as humanly possible. In neuroscience terms wisdom education is brain therapy that gets the brain free of all emotional baggage. The pure man of religion is the emotionally super healthy man of science!
Again lets take the example of the word 'Jen' as described in the Dictionary of Philosophy.
It is amazing that the ancient sages understood life more clearly than people do now simply because they defined words in full contextual mindfulness. One of them who towers amongst the giant sages was Confucius.
Confucius described the word 'Jen' (Man) as:
b) Goodness; among other things the fundamental as well as the sum total of virtues.
c) That by which a man is to be a man.
d) The golden rule: Being true to the principles of one's nature.
e) "The true man, having established his own character, seeks to establish the character of others; and having succeeded, seeks to make others succeed" - Confucius
f) "Universal love without the element of self" - Chuang Tzu
Compare the above definition of man with the current definition as provided in Wikipedia:
The term man (pl. men) is used for an adult human male (the term boy is the usual term for a human male child or adolescent). However, man is sometimes used to refer to humanity as a whole. Sometimes it is also used to identify a male human, regardless of age, as in phrases such as "men's rights".
the quality of having experience, knowledge, and good judgment; the quality of being wise.
sagacity, intelligence, sense, common sense, shrewdness, astuteness, smartness, judiciousness, judgment, prudence, circumspection; More (definition from google)
There is a need to redefine wisdom in the light of the latest advances in neuroscience and neurobiology. The time has come to cross reference and combine the knowledge of wisdom from religion, science, tradition and culture to extract the latest meaning of wisdom.
"the quality of having experience" This meaning is one of the biggest stumbling blocks to becoming wise at a young age. This assumes that wisdom only comes by old age; and so people do not seek wisdom from a young age.
The reason why wisdom comes at an old age is because through years and years of experience the emotional baggage that blocks wisdom gets gradually ground out of the brain, leaving the brain wise. The question is why let years and years pass by and live with the effects/affects of the emotional baggage in the meantime. Why not deliberately remove the emotional baggage through brain-therapy/brain-education early on? Better still why not make sure that every child is exposed to a super mature emotionally healthy/intelligent/wise upbringing.
Again knowledge is implying that wisdom means having knowledge; so knowledge is vital for wisdom. Having knowledge and being wise are two different realities. A wise mother does not need to have knowledge of wisdom to raise a wise child. It is well known that a wise man does not know that he is wise.
The reason why knowledge is not essential for wisdom is because knowledge is the domain of the mind and wisdom is an innate domain of the brain. Assuming wisdom to be knowledge has created a defective wisdom education. Wisdom education teaches the knowledge of wisdom and it is the mind that gets educated. The physical brain is what needs to be 'educated' as it is the emotionally challenged brain that blocks wisdom. When the brain is physically processing ignorance one cannot teach/educate it to process wisdom. The physically challenged brain has to be nursed to health.
When wisdom itself is confusing then, 'quality of being wise' makes little sense.
We need a new definition of wisdom:
It is the wealth of intelligence, which like wealth exists only in its attributes. Each attribute's DNA is selflessness. Thus wisdom is selflessness which is generated by an emotional baggage free brain. Wisdom is a by-product of the pure self. Wisdom is pure emotions. Wisdom is super mature emotional intelligence. All the attributes of wisdom are wisdom.
Wisdom/emotional-intelligence is an innate property/ability of the pure self; which is generated by an emotional baggage free brain.
How can we teach wisdom when we are living with a wrong definition of wisdom. By recognizing that it is the emotional baggage that blocks wisdom we can create the right course for making the world wise through brain therapy that makes the brain emotionally wise/healthy/super-mature.
3) e·mo·tion·al in·tel·li·gence
noun: emotional intelligence
1. The capacity to be aware of, control, and express one's emotions, and to handle interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathetically. (Definition from google)
Categorizing emotional intelligence as a noun is misleading, as it implies that emotional intelligence is an independent stand alone entity. Emotional intelligence is a by-product of a healthy brain. It is more of a verb than a noun as it is an ongoing innate product of a biochemical process of the brain.
Again control is the wrong description of emotional intelligence for the simple reason that control implies that there is something defective/ill/unhealthy that needs to be managed/controlled/kept in check. Control is hinting that there is an animal in the self that emotional intelligence keeps in check. Emotional intelligence must represent a pure human nature that is innately free of any animal human nature and so there is no need to control animal emotions.
Expressing one's emotions is completely out of place here. Even an insane person expresses his emotions!
Perhaps for starters we can have a new definition of emotional intelligence:
verb: emotional intelligence
It is an innate capacity/ability/property of the brain that generates/is super healthy emotions. It is an ability that is generated effortlessly by the pure self which in turn is generated by an emotional baggage free brain. Emotional intelligence is selflessness. As selflessness is wisdom, emotional intelligence is wisdom. Emotional intelligence is the pure/emotionally-super-healthy man.
