A Jordanian Engineer wins the Third Prize in MENA 100 Regional Competition

    AMMAN, JORDAN, December 07, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jordanian Engineer Hussein Al-Natsheh, General Manager of Ciapple, has won in the MENA 100 Business Plan Competition that was held on Wednesday at Bahrain's capital, with more than 300 participants from various Middle-Eastern and North African (MENA) countries.

Al-Natasheh's project came as the third best business plan, out of 15 that were nominated to compete for the first place at Manamah. The project's main idea is to commercialize scientific research in the Artificial Intelligence and IT Knowledge domains into software products that support the decision making processes in Marketing and Business Administration Departments in big companies like in the Telecommunication sector.

Upon receiving the award, Mr. Al-Natsheh expressed his happiness regarding winning the competition; its significance and dimensions confirm the Jordanian youth capabilities and potentials. Al- Natsheh said: "The competition period was characterized by its heated climate especially in its final stage, which lent, to winning, a certain kind of elation which I pride myself with." It is worth mentioning that Ciapple Company has won the First Prize in a similar competition, specialized in a regional technology business plans, back in the year 2008.

MENA 100 Competition aims at stimulating entrepreneurs, facilitating their communications with financing sources in the region to acquire the capital they need to practically execute their projects, and connect them to a technical and professional communication network which would help them obtain the technical expertise needed to render their projects successful.

At the same time, Asma'a Al-Lawie from Morocco won the First Prize for her Turbo project plan in the Automobile sector, and Islam Samir, from Egypt, came second with his Bio Business project in the Medical Equipment sector. The winning Jordanian company Ciapple's business plan was First in the Information & Communication Technology (ICT) sector, and Third in all sectors.

It should be noted that the MENA 100 Competition is leading the regional pioneer initiative that aims at stimulating entrepreneurship in the Arab World by admitting the need to encourage the expansion of the sector and economic growth via an award program that creates a network between technology, expertise, and investors from one end, and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris from the other.

The Network for Financing Organizations has been brought together to support the region's effort for financing the culture of entrepreneurship and enhancing the circumstances regarding financing entrepreneurship. The Network is considered a unique medium connecting all the parties involved in the business development process such as innovators, entrepreneurs, industrial incubators, those who support business activities, projects financing funds, and private equity funds in addition to international organizations, funding organizations, decision makers, and governmental officials.
