-- The Social Gaming Association (the "Association") is pleased to announce that AbZorba Games, Bally Technologies and Slingo have joined the Association as Executive Members and will be sitting on the Executive Committee, the driving force behind the Association's policy direction, creation and implementation.
Stuart Tilly, Director of the Association commented: "I'm delighted to welcome all three members on to the Executive Committee. Their combined breadth and depth of knowledge of the social games space is going to be invaluable in the pursuit of our objectives and I am very excited about working with them going forward."
Andrew Hughes, CEO of AbZorba Games added: "It's widely recognised that the social games industry must demonstrate a desire to self-regulate and I firmly support the Social Gaming Association's vision of formulating a socially responsible code of conduct for the vast majority of companies out there who want to build, create and employ a fun, safe and protected gaming environment."
John Connelly, Vice President of Business Development at Bally Technologies also added: "Social Gaming is an area receiving intense scrutiny from within the online and traditional gaming sectors. Bally is committed to supporting the evolution of the industry in a manner consistent with the demands of our customers. This Association will provide a platform from which various segments of the industry can voice their opinions in an organized and productive fashion - Bally is proud to be part of this initiative."
Rich Roberts, CEO of Slingo further added: "Social games encompass a wide array of advancing technologies and it's imperative that the dynamic and innovative nature of this popular form of entertainment remains flexible and is safeguarded from any formal regulation. I believe the Social Gaming Association will provide the industry with a clear, cohesive and consistent voice."
Melissa Blau of iGaming Capital and Steve Donoughue have also agreed to support the Association in an advisory capacity as it looks to further promote its long term goals and values and establish and maintain dialogue with regulators and other key policy makers in various jurisdictions.
