/24-7PressRelease/ - NAPLES, FL, July 19, 2008 - ADS Florida will be the only Florida dental practice transition firm attending The Academy of General Dentistry's (AGD) 56th Annual Meeting and Exhibits in Orlando, Florida, on July 16-20, 2008. "We always look forward to a national convention in our own home state, and we always enjoy seeing clients that we have helped transition into and out of practices," said Hy Smith, managing partner of ADS Florida.

The AGD is dedicated exclusively to advancing the value and excellence of general dentistry. Their five-day conference is focused on providing dentists with high-caliber, hands-on participation courses and practice management sessions. This conference provides an opportunity for dentists approaching retirement to seek advice from industry experts and exhibitors. "We will attend all week to share our insights on the unique trends that are facing the industry and state," Smith said.

Earlier this summer, the Florida National Dental Convention (FNDC) also held its annual meeting in Orlando. "We learned at the FNDC that dentists are facing new questions regarding the timing of retirement," Smith said. "The economy is tough, especially in Florida, because of the real estate slow down. Dentists are asking themselves whether or not they can afford to retire."

Smith said his firm has been focused on helping dentists prepare their practices for transition despite the uncertainty of when they will be able to retire. "It's important to look at least five years out," he advises, "and make sure the practice is primed to reap its maximum value."
