NOTTINGHAM, PA, February 25, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- As Integrative Medicine begins taking hold in the United States for people, veterinarian Judith Shoemaker offers many different modalities of therapy for her patients at Always Helpful Veterinary Services, comforting them with treatments that include chiropractic, acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, physical therapy, herbs, homeopathy, and nutritional and behavioral counseling.

"Most of the people who bring their animals to me," Dr. Shoemaker said, "either have had experience with alternative modalities themselves, or they have found that conventional medicine has not solved their animal's problem."
At Always Helpful Veterinary Services, Shoemaker often sees animals which have been injured or ill and not recovered well, or that have persistent, severe health or behavior problems. She has many years of experience dealing successfully with difficult cases through holistic care.

"We are creating awareness and understanding of balance as the key factor in improving quality of life—and in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of health problems of animals and people," Dr. Shoemaker said.

"We want to help make this kind of holistic care a standard for all. Often we see miraculous cures and improvements; however, our real goal is preventing illness, injury, and degenerative disease through lifetime integrative health care and interactive education. It all comes down to giving the animal a longer, healthy, active lifespan; to give that animal—and its owner—better quality of life," she said.

"I have lots of patients that, after a couple of treatments, act as though they are many years younger!"
"We also provide public and professional educational programs, as exchanging knowledge is so important for both our clients and colleagues," Dr. Shoemaker said.
With emphasis on owner education, caring interaction and communication—for top-level competitive athletes, geriatric and chronically ill patients, and all in between—through the treatments and management they provide, Dr. Shoemaker and her staff strive to be Always Helpful.
