ARLINGTON, VA, January 31, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The American Management Association (AMA) Enterprise Government Solutions, the global leader of talent transformation dedicated to providing workplace learning for government organizations, has announced that David Melvin will be speaking at their March 5 complimentary government briefing. This briefing, for government Human Capital Management and Training and Development professionals, will focus on managing chaos and will provide tools to help government employees set priorities and make decisions under pressure.

Specifically designed to address the unique needs of government professionals, this briefing will provide attendees with strategies to manage more effectively in today's constantly changing government environment. Mr. Melvin serves clients worldwide, specializing in the professional development of individuals and teams by identifying and providing creative and effective solutions to the challenges they face in changing times - from mission through deliverables.

"In the current environment of reduced resources, challenges for government employees include expanding workloads, shifting priorities, tight deadlines and increased uncertainty," said Sam Davis, Vice President, AMA Enterprise Government Solutions. "The strategies that will be covered in this briefing address the fact that it's important to learn to transform unproductive confusion and disorder into controllable challenges, to keep employees motivated and focused on the mission."

Mr. Melvin will cover topics such as: defining chaos you can control; assessing problems before rushing to solutions; analyzing and negotiating how you spend your time; how to manage changing priorities and shifting demands; and using critical thinking and problem-solving tools to make tough decisions.

The March 5 briefing will take place at the Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel in Arlington, VA, starting with a complimentary breakfast at 8:00am. The presentation will run from 8:45-11:30am, and all registered participants will receive a complimentary copy of Leading at the Edge by Dennis N.T. Perkins et al. as a thank you for attending.
