/EIN Presswire/ -- Anderson Funeral Home of Adrian, Michigan hosted its Annual Open House to support the Lenawee County Associated Charities organization.
Anderson Funeral Home of Adrian, Michigan hosted its Annual Open House to support the Lenawee County Associated Charities organization. The local funeral home asked community members who attended their holiday open house community event to help support the charity, which was celebrating its 100th Anniversary.
"During these trying times, we knew that members of our community would come together to help the less fortunate have a blessed holiday," explained Michael L. Anderson, Owner and Manager of Anderson Funeral Home in Adrian and Tecumseh, Michigan. Each visitor was asked to bring something that would be donated to Associated Charities for needy families in the community. Gifts of unwrapped toys, canned goods, and money donated for food baskets were collected for the local organization.
"During our annual Open House, we invite family members to come back and celebrate the lives of their loved ones, we offer grief support, and a chance to relax with activities in a dignified holiday atmosphere," he continued. "The
funeral planning we helped them with previously was the beginning of their grief journey, and holidays and special events are often hard for some people to cope with when their loved one has passed on. That's why we invite them back each year, for a
Celebration of Life as well as an opportunity to talk with our staff if they need to."
Staff members of the
Adrian MI Funeral Home decorated the facility with thousands of decorative lights, dozens of decorated trees, and promoted a seasonal atmosphere with recorded music. Three local musical groups also entertained visitors during the open house.
Over 800 visitors attended the open house, bringing enough food and toys to overfill a delivery-sized truck for Associated Charities, along with $1,400 cash collected for the charity.
"We thank everyone in the community for their continued support of our funeral home, but we thank them even more for supporting the charities that take care of our community," said Anderson.
