/Worldwide Who's Who/ -- Andrea McCartney, Director of Valley Education & Training Enterprises Ltd., has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in higher education administration.
Entering her seventh year as director, Ms. McCartney is known in her field for her expertise in education project development. On a daily basis, she is tasked with ensuring that all program managers have their needs met, facilitating continued business growth (both new and existing) and ensuring compliance with all government and regulatory guidelines. Valley Education & Training Enterprises Ltd. is a private training establishment that provides tertiary education.
Ms. McCartney and her husband Chris have been the owners of Valley Education & Training Enterprises Ltd. (VETEL) since 2005. They currently teach 25 students on-site in Thames, offering a variety of courses leading to certifications in business administration and computing. Since 2008, VETEL has been collaborating on a successful program with the Ministry of Social Development, Work and Income to provide employment placement services to students. In addition, VETEL runs a Training for Work program in Whitianga and recently instituted an employer-led literacy and numeracy program at the Thames Timber Mill, the largest facility operated by Southern Cross Forest Products Ltd.
Ms. McCartney attributes her success to her hard work, dedication and passion for education, continued learning, and taking advantage of opportunities as they present themselves. She became involved in her profession after working at Valley Education & Training Enterprise Ltd. (VETEL) as a tutor for three years; she and her husband had an opportunity to buy the company in 2005 and recognized the potential to grow and expand the business into various segments. This expansion has provided them with continued success in the local and regional communities.
Ms. McCartney received her own tertiary education from University of Waikato, where she earned an MBA. In addition, she is the holder of adult teaching qualifications in literacy and numeracy development gained from MIT in 2011.
Additionally, she is a member of New Zealand Association of Private Education Providers and the ATEM Pty Ltd. In the years ahead, Ms. McCartney and her husband look forward to continued progress and growth, and are committed to bringing further educational opportunities to Thames and the Coromandel district.
