/24-7PressRelease/ -- Accounting software and the enormous, super cool Apple store on Regent Street aren't two things you'd automatically put together, but a recent in-store demonstration from Xero showed Apple business customers that web-based accounting software can be just as appealing and intuitive as other Macintosh applications.
Xero is one of the only web-based accounting software systems that has been developed for both Mac and PC users. It works just as well on Safari as it does Firefox and Internet Explorer. But more importantly it turns accessing business accounts online into the intuitive, great-looking experience Mac users are used to.
Xero Founder and UK MD Hamish Edwards says the web-based accounting software demonstration was a big success, with feedback suggesting it had challenged people's perceptions of what online accounting software can deliver.
"Lots of small businesses don't enjoy managing the financial side of their business and that's got a lot to do with the bad experiences they've had using cumbersome software and complicated processes."
Edwards says staying on top of the numbers is incredibly important ingredient of business success. And it needn't be an unpleasant experience
"We specifically designed Xero online accounting software to work for business owners as well as their accountants. That's why it's as simple to use as a computer game, but there's enough sophistication there to prepare the end of year financials."
Xero also recently introduced a new online accounting service, Xero for iPhone and iPod Touch. It enables business owners and their advisers to access up-to-date accounts information wherever and whenever they need to, and is available free to all Xero users.
