ATLANTA, GA, September 27, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/
-- The Atlanta bus charter
business Samson Trailways is excited to announce their recent contribution to "Stuff the Bus," a charitable event hosted by WSBTV that was intended to provide homeless children with much-needed school supplies. The Atlanta bus rental company donated the bus that hundreds of residents filled with various goods, including backpacks, pens, paper and everything else that the nearly 4,000 homeless students in the city need to start the school year off right. The event took place from early July through August. WSBTV offered chances to win a number of prizes to those who donated to the cause, including airline tickets and gift cards to department stores.
The Atlanta charter bus company not only donated a school bus, they also provided the transportation services that were used to transport the supplies to their final destination.
"No child should have to go without, especially when it concerns receiving a quality education, " Tom Sambdaman, Vice President of Samson Trailways, said. "It is hard to imagine that there are thousands of children in this city alone that lack access to basic necessities like pencils, paper and book bags. I am truly honored that we could be a part of this event, and I hope the effort will make a difference in the lives of these kids."
The Atlanta rental bus
specialists were among a number of well-known contributors in the community. Famous cartoonist Mike Luckovich was recognized for donating a drawing to the cause as well.
