CHICO, CA, March 04, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Auction Sniper, a leading provider of automated auction-sniping tools for eBay, announces immediate availability of Auction Sniper Mobile, a faster, easier way for mobile users to snipe and win eBay auctions.

The mobile site provides a streamlined, mobile-optimized experience for Auction Sniper users.

Initially, the site enables iPhone, iPod Touch and Android devices to access basic Sniper functionality, including the ability to import eBay watches, and place, edit and delete snipes. And, as with the full version of Auction Sniper, users of the mobile site can receive notifications via e-mail or SMS directly on their phones.

Subsequent releases will introduce support for all major mobile devices, as well as more advanced operations, such as bid-group sniping.

Auction Sniper Mobile addresses a growing tendency of online buyers to engage in e-commerce using mobile phones. eBay reports more than 1.5 million transactions took place via mobile devices during the 2009 holiday season, and the site receives more than 750,000 unique visitors a day through mobile apps.

"We've seen our traffic from mobile devices increase by a huge percentage in the last few months," agrees Auction Sniper Product Lead Steven Swim. "In recognizing this trend, we found it imperative to provide our users with the fastest and easiest mobile experience possible."

Sniping uses third-party bidding in the closing seconds of an online auction to increase the likelihood of a winning bid at a lower final price. In 2009, Auction Sniper users enjoyed a 99.99-percent success rate. Sniping also allows the freedom to cancel a bid 5 minutes before the end of an auction, something eBay bidders can't do when they manually place bids.

Registered Auction Sniper users who visit AuctionSniper.com from an iPhone, iPod Touch or Android device will be automatically redirected to the mobile version of the site. Users will also have the option to view the full site on their mobile devices.

A downloadable application is planned to roll out by early Q2, and an iPhone application will be available from the iTunes store.

Auction Sniper is free to try. Users win their first three items for free. Subsequent successful snipes are charged a flat 1 percent of the final sale price. Visit AuctionSniper.com, follow Auction Sniper on Twitter or become a fan of the Auction Sniper Facebook page.
