/24-7PressRelease/ - WYNNEWOOD, OK, April 27, 2008 - Awakening Production's "The Mystical Magic of the Endangered Show" proudly announces a special two-night limited engagement in Benton Harbor Michigan's Orchard Mall (1800 Pipestone Road, M-2, Benton Harbor MI, 49022) May 12th and 13th at 6:00PM. This show is open to the public and free for everyone.

"This benefit show will be in honor of the organization: "Uniting a Proactive Primate and Exotic Animal League - UAPPEAL (see http://www.uppapeal.org), an organization fighting for the rights of everyday people who wish to preserve the right in the United States to keep, house and maintain exotic primates and other animals within the private sector," says Joe Schreibvogel, president of Awakening Productions. "This even reaches out to services providing exotic animals trained and used to aid the disabled." "I encourage everyone to help us support UPPAPEAL and fight unnecessary laws such as the H.R. 1947 bill which encroaches on individual rights to own or have any contact with exotic animals," Schreibvogel adds.

Each hour long benefit show offers at least eight mind-bending, master illusions, multiple slight-of-hand tricks and features hilarious audience participation. In addition to the show, an animal exhibit is open daily during regular mall hours and will feature: Oliver, a 1 month old extremely rare barbary lion cub; Archie, a one year old rare Indochinese tiger; Baby Ricky, a 10 month old spider monkey; Jack, a one-year-old kangaroo joey; two eleven month old coatimundi sisters named Maggie and Misty; and two 60 day-old North American black bear cubs named Edith and Mary.

Through magic and entertainment, the Mystical Magic of the Endangered Show starring Master Illusionist Joe Exotic delivers a compelling anti-drug and alcohol message intertwined with themes of environmental responsibility and endangered wildlife protection. The message and illusions are enhanced by smoke effects, pyrotechnics and a state-of-the-art ILS-DMX light show. All shows are free to the public. The animal exhibit is also free and will be open to mall traffic each day during the mall operating hours of 10AM to . 9PM. People from across the US will be available to answer visitors questions about exotic animals. Visitors and show attendees will have the opportunity to be photographed with select animals of the exhibit and may even elect to spend some personal time petting the animals. Awakening Productions is a not-for-profit 501 (c) 3 organization and requires a donation for the photos and play cages.

Host, Master Illusionist and President of Awakening Productions, Joe Exotic (a/k/a Joe Schreibvogel) established the show in honor of his brother Garold's (G.W.) memory after he was killed by a drunk driver over 10 years ago. Joe Exotic teaches children and adults through magic and story-telling not only to believe in themselves, but also the harm of picking on others and the dangers of using drugs and alcohol. During a particularly moving part of the show called The Promise all kids are invited to center stage to meet "Baby Ricky" the spider monkey. At this point, Joe speaks through the animal to the kids about fears of growing up alone. The children are asked to raise their hands and promise to not themselves become endangered by swearing they will not drink and drive nor use drugs.

"There are always some tears during the promise part of our program," comments Schreibvogel. "Seeing the kids promise Ricky to grow up and stay off drugs and alcohol is just beautiful and moving no matter what age you are." "I still get misty-eyed and I have been doing this show for years," he added. In addition to the show, Awakening Productions offers a free monthly newsletter called My Promise Monthly targeted to grades 3 - 6. The newsletter offers activities, news and role-playing games involving parents and guardians to reinforce the show's messages and keep kids safe. In addition to parental acclaim, both the newsletter and Schreibvogel's show receives praise from Project DARE, MADD, SADD and several state-level government officials.

G.W. Exotic Animal Foundation is a 501 (c) 3 not-for-profit organization founded by the Schreibvogel family. Its purpose is to rescue, rehabilitate and provide safe-haven (refuge) to unwanted and endangered exotic animals. The 16 acre facility in Oklahoma is the nations largest big cat rescue center.
