HOUSTON, TX, December 18, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/
-- On Saturday, December 14, teams of two gathered at CrossFit Roughnecks in Houston, closing down a block of Commerce Street, for Battle Buddy 57. The teams completed 57 repetitions of a Workout of the Day (WOD) named "Olivia" in honor of a Houston four-year-old who spent her first 57 days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Texas Children's Hospital.
Battle Buddy 57 is a fundraising event for the Olivia Grace Stevens Endowment Fund for Neonatology; all proceeds support research, education and training at the Newborn Center at Texas Children's Hospital. The Houston law firm of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto & Friend, is the proud title sponsor of Battle Buddy 57 and congratulates all the competitors from Saturday's event, including attorney Mo Aziz, on a WOD well done for a worthy cause.

About Battle Buddy 57
Olivia Stevens was born with a rare chromosomal deletion that had her fighting for life from the moment she came into this world. Because of the care she received from her medical team while at Texas Children's, Olivia is a thriving little girl. The Olivia Grace Stevens Endowment was created to give back to Texas Children's by providing financial support for continued research and advancements in the care of premature and critically-ill infants.
CrossFit teams competing in Battle Buddy 57 engaged in their own fight last Saturday in Olivia's honor: against the limits of their bodies and of their wills to complete 57 cycles of a WOD that included box jumps, push press, sit ups, lunges, push-ups, kettlebell swings, squats and burpees. More than 400 people gathered in April to compete in Battle Buddy 57; the fitness event had already raised more than $60,000 to benefit Texas Children's prior to last weekend's event.
