Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network Launches Improved, Redesigned Website
Leading Non-Profit Organization Offers Comprehensive Collection of Bladder Cancer Information
BETHESDA, MD, September 25, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (BCAN) has launched a redesigned website - bcan.org. The new site, a major redesign, provides educational resources and support services for the bladder cancer community. The site boasts a fresh modern look, enhanced navigation and patient stories. Additional features include a resource library, updates on cutting-edge research and opportunities for involvement.
As the leading voice for bladder cancer, BCAN redesigned its website to align with its mission and improve the user experience.
"We work every day to cultivate a community of hope and support for people touched by bladder cancer," says Diane Zipursky-Quale, president and co-founder of BCAN. "Our new website has tools and resources to help people with bladder cancer find answers and become advocates in their own care."
The new site offers a blog, a calendar of upcoming events and includes a special section called, "Women & Bladder Cancer." In addition to educational materials it includes real stories from female bladder cancer survivors. Though bladder cancer is more prevalent in men, studies have shown that women are more likely to present advanced tumors and have a worse prognosis than men at almost every stage of the disease.
The bladder cancer online support community is available 24 hours a day. Now with over 4,000 members from all 50 states, survivors and their loved ones support each other through the different stages in their bladder cancer journey.
