/24-7PressRelease/ - May 23, 2008 - After car rental firm, Carrentals.co.uk did a survey on the impact of more work and family responsibilities on driving, they found that rushing during driving is causing more accidents as well as Road Rage. This is primarily because people in Britain have to rush to get things done as they are indeed looking to cut time in work and at home.

Carrentals.co.uk talked to about 800 people who drive in Britain and asked them questions about their lifestyles. The car rental firm found that more than 50 percent are in a hurry to get to work. In addition, about 40 percent said they were used to driving more dangerously if they were rushing on the road. They described frequently overtaking, going above normal speeds, and being more aggressive while driving.

As people are now increasingly pressed for time, about a third of all drivers in the UK say they cannot concentrate while they are in a hurry. More importantly, one out of 10 drivers said they had an injury-related accident because of rushing.

Road rage was another behaviour that was observed as a result of rushing - about 0.1 percent involved in road rage while rushing.

Most Brits were worried the most about missing business meetings. About 40 percent said that was their major reason for rushing while driving. The next reason that concerned most drivers was picking up kids from school grounds. Then they were concerned about being late to their location of work. Lastly, they were worried about being late for dinner with their partner.

Off the road, people behaved more or less the same with those who were surveyed saying that they were quick to have their meals, and to do their work around the house, and even when it came to talking and catching up with their acquaintances. They also said that they rushed through helping children with their schoolwork. However, only about 6 percent admitted to rushing through sex.

Gareth Roinson, who is the managing director of Carrentals.co.uk commented on the survey saying, it seems obvious that British drivers are rushing more than ever probably as a result of increasing demands on our time, and this is something we all go through at some point in time.
