-- Researchers at the Burzynski Clinic have spent more than a decade developing innovative cancer treating techniques and therapies. They look outside the traditional radiation and chemotherapy treatments and offer patients an alternative. Because no two people are the same, they tailor the medications and technology they use to each individual and their unique needs. Their approach for treating cancer is making a difference. A recent article
on Toledo News Now shares the story of 22-year old Dustin Kunnari who was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the age of two but is now cancer-free.
Dustin Kunnari's family was devastated to find out that, at just two years old, he had medulloblastoma, a highly malignant brain tumor. They feared that his life expectancy was short, and that he would miss out on many of the joys of life. When looking for treatment, they realized that radiation and chemotherapy would likely leave him in a vegetative state. Dustin's mother, Mariann, did not want to see him this way. Therefore, she began looking for alternatives.
That is when she came across the Burzynski Clinic. When they went to see Dr. Burzynski, he gave them hope. He presented treatment options that also included an investigational treatment not yet approved by the FDA. They opted for the investigational treatment to try to save Dustin's life. He was tumor free by the time he was three years old. "I will always remember going to see the Burzynskis and getting the antineoplaston treatment," shares Dustin. "It was nothing but good, wonderful memories for me. They took me right in as family."
Now 22 years old, he remains cancer-free. He met a woman that he fell in love with, and they recently got married. It is a milestone that his mother feared he would never reach. "I never dreamed Dustin would be where he is now," she says. "Never. We were hoping for maybe a year, two years." They got much more than that. He is healthy and able to live his life just like anyone else. He is grateful for the treatment that he received from the Burzynski Clinic and how it changed his life.
"It is so rewarding to see the positive impact that treatment can have," says a representative of the Burzynski Clinic. "As research continues, it opens the doors to even more possibilities." The Burzynski Clinic continues to research and test various treatments to improve their abilities to effectively treat patients.
The Burzynski Clinic was founded in 1977 by Dr. Stanislaw Burzynski, MD, PhD. It is a cancer treatment center that focuses on using personalized therapy tailored to each patient's unique needs. Because cancer is caused by abnormal genes, the clinic focuses on using technology and medication that targets these genes rather than just treating the organs they affect. One of their major focuses is on treating brain tumors. Medical professionals at the clinic are committed to providing patients with high quality care and personalized treatment while respecting one's quality of life.
