RALEIGH, NC, March 21, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Bruce Clarke, president and CEO of CAI (http://www.capital.org), a human resource management firm that helps organizations maximize employee engagement while minimizing employer liability, announced the release of three podcasts, in which its 2013 Ovation Award for HR Excellence winners share their secrets for success, including the ways they dramatically improved their organizations through their winning people practices. In the podcasts, representatives from each of the winning organizations discusses the effective people practices of their company and how these changes have improved overall employee morale, workplace performance and company revenues. The winners were recognized at CAI's annual HR Management Conference, which was held March 6 and March 7 at Raleigh's McKimmon Center.

Small Company Winner:

Jay Strickland, founder and CEO of WingSwept of Garner, N.C., discusses the company's new "Pay for Performance" employee rewards program. The initiative resulted in more than 45 percent growth in top-line revenue by creating organizational alignment that advances and supports the ongoing health and sustainability of the company. Priscilla Nunn, employee development consultant of Eisai of RTP, discusses how and why the company created its "Pay and Progression Employee Development Program." This employee recognition program rewards employees for gaining new skills and knowledge in their specific roles. Large Company Winner:

Robin Miller, vice president of people strategies for Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina (BCBSNC), outlines the company's innovative recognition program that serves to drive company culture forward. The BCBSNC culture is based on four pillars: collaboration, caring, commitment and creativity. Using these pillars, its "Props" recognition program was created as a means of furthering its culture and ultimately driving business results. Through the program, employees have the opportunity to recognize other employees demonstrating behaviors in line with any of the four pillars.
