    NEW YORK, NY, November 2, 2009 /Cambridge Who's Who/ -- Ermelinda Cuono, General Manager and CEO of Clerici Tessuto USA Corp., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in textile business management.

With more than three decades of professional management experience, Ermelinda Cuono is uniquely positioned to oversee the operations of Clerici Tessuto USA Corp. As CEO and general manager, she is responsible for overseeing sales, finance, administration and staff. Honored as a mercy associate by the Sisters of Mercy, she is active in advocating for human rights and immigration issues. Ms. Cuono considers hard work, dedication and love for her profession to be the driving forces behind her success.

Ms. Cuono holds a master of arts in English from New York University where she completed all but her dissertation for a doctorate in comparative literature. She was a recipient of a Fulbright-Hays English Teaching Assistantship and was assigned to the University of Catania, Sicily where she taught English and took courses in Italian literature towards her doctorate. Most recently, Ms. Cuono was named "Executive of the Year" by Cambridge Who's Who for the 2008-2009 year.

Bilingual in English and Italian, Ms. Cuono also speaks French and Spanish. Particularly proud of her Italian heritage, she is actively involved with the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce as its corporate secretary. She is also affiliated with the National Organization of Italian American Women and is a member of the Islamic/Roman Catholic Dialogue in New York City. Ms. Cuono is a supporter of Covenant House, St. Joseph's Indian School, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Catholic Relief Services, Doctors without Borders and the Sisters of Mercy. Looking to the future, she intends to devote more time to promoting Christian/Muslim dialogue.
