/Cambridge Who's Who/ -- F. Neil Folks, Spiritual Chaplain for Communities Overcoming Meth Abuse and Bereavement Companion for the Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurses Association, has been named
Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Spiritual Services. While inclusion in Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only two male and two female members in each discipline are named the Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year. The Cambridge Who's Who selection committee chooses these special honorees based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, and leadership abilities.
Mr. Folks has seven years of professional experience, with the last five of these years with C.O.M.A., a non-profit organization that offers spiritual and educational services and is dedicated to refining a proactive approach to methamphetamine identification, education and rehabilitation. Mr. Folks is recognized as being knowledgeable in male spirituality and grief work to combat the root causes underlying addictive behaviors. He considers helping his companions heal from their problems and showing them that their lives are truly worth living to be the most rewarding aspects of his work. In addition to his work for C.O.M.A. as their volunteer Detention Center Spiritual Chaplain, he serves as a bereavement companion for NWCO Visiting Nurses Association, a residential care center.
A graduate of Utah State University, Mr. Folks received his Master of Science in 1969. He holds certifications in Death and Loss Studies, Releasing Emotional Patterns with Essential Oils, Raindrop Therapy with Essential Oils, Somatic Archaeology, and Men's Rites of Passage: Men as Learners and Elders. He sits as chairman of the Moffat County Council on Aging and as a board member of Area Agency on Aging Region 11. He is board secretary of Love INC of The Yampa Valley, chairman of Spiritual Outreach, C.O.M.A., board member of the Rotary Club of Craig, CO, and sits on the advisory board for Youth Wellness and Grand Futures, Moffat Co and is a Master Mason and the Junior Warden for the local chapter of Blue Lodge Masons, Colorado Lodge of Freemasons, AM and FM. He is also a member of the local Craig Chapter of American Association of Retired Persons, a Moffat County Law Enforcement Chaplain, and a member of Sigma Xi Honor Society.
