Career & College Clubs Supports Race To The Top-District Grant Priorities
LA based extracurricular supporting school district grant priority contest
LOS ANGELES, CA, September 21, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Career & College Clubs - a Common Core-aligned curriculum to help middle grade students acquire the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in high school, college, and life, is a valuable component of school districts' Race To The Top-District grant proposals.
The Race To The Top-District application emphasizes districts' efforts in Preparing Students for College and Careers (Selection Criteria C) and awards up to 40 total points (20% of total available points) to school districts that have a "high-quality plan for improving learning and teaching buy personalizing the learning environment in order to provide all students the support to graduate college and be career ready."
Career & College Clubs supports this goal by utilizing a peer-to-peer learning model that allows for differentiated learning based on students' existing knowledge and skills. Aligned with the Common Core State Standards, Career & College Clubs helps ensure students are on track toward meeting college and career-ready standards, as well as college and career-ready graduation requirements.
A recent independent review by ACT, Inc. found Career & College Clubs to have a significant impact on all middle grade students' aspirations for a college preparation curriculum in high school, as well as their aspirations for postsecondary education.
