Carla L. Hill Recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Education

    POUGHKEEPSIE, NEW YORK, October 10, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Carla L. Hill, Teaching Associate with Marist College, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in education.

Understanding the importance of a strong educational foundation, Carla L. Hill completed a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics at Lenoir-Rhyne University, a Master of Arts in computer science at Union College, and is currently pursuing an Ed.D. in educational leadership, with a concentration in educational technology, through the University of Phoenix. Ms. Hill is passionate about the implementation of information technology in students' curriculum. Since 2007, she has served as a teaching associate for Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY. Marist College is currently providing services and an upward bound program to low income and first-generation college students who are struggling to transition from high school to a higher education facility. In her position, Ms. Hill utilizes technology as an educational tool to enhance the value of coursework.

Honored with the Special Services Award for her advocacy of students with learning disabilities, Ms. Hill focuses on integrating special services and factors into the school's curriculum to meet the needs of students with developmental difficulties. She recently completed a National Quality Matters Course Redesign Program to ensure online courses meet national standards. Drawing on the college's motto, "Marist College; a college, a community, a family," Ms. Hill also encourages a familiar and relaxed relationship between staff and students. Serving as both a teacher and quality assurance professional, she plans to continue ensuring correct technologies are utilized in the classroom to enhance learning and improve degree completion success rates. Attributing her success to her open-mindedness and love for young people, Ms. Hill aspires to find the cause for various learning disabilities through research, development, and continued networking in the education industry.
