Carole K. Metzger, LCSW develops programs for patients with chronic mental illnesses

Skilled in the field of human services, Carole K. Metzger, LCSW is noted for her adept ability to manage patient affairs at Chester Mental Health Center. Utilizing her 19 years of professional experience, she supervises and advises staff members, addresses complaints filed by the human resources committee and develops programs for patients with chronic mental illnesses. Ms. Metzger also serves as a reference point through which committees and individuals communicate to provide behavioral therapy and individual and group psychotherapy.

With an extensive background in social work that includes the treatment of sexual offenders and individuals suffering from extremely traumatic losses, Ms. Metzger is driven by her passion for service and desire to help others. Over the course of her career she has co-authored numerous articles, which have appeared in many peer-reviewed publications. Most recently, she contributed to "Assessment of Impulsive Aggression in Patients with Severe Mental Disorders and Demonstrated Violence," which appeared in the 2009 edition of the Journal of Forensic Sciences. Her other recent works include "Four Types of Assessments in Sex Offender Treatment," which appeared in the 2004 edition of The Forensic Therapist and "Another Look at Sex Offender Recovery," which appeared in the 2003 edition of The Forensic Therapist.

In recognition of outstanding service in her field, Ms. Metzger will be featured in Cambridge Publishing's Top 101 Industry Experts book. Her career dedication was also recognized by the secretary of mental health, Carole Adams, Ph.D. who honored her with an award of appreciation for patient care in 2003. Ms. Metzger holds a master of social work from the University of Illinois, a bachelor of science in social work from Southern Illinois University and an associate of arts from Rend Lake College. She is an adjunct professor at the Psychiatric Institute of Southern Illinois University.
