NEWMARKET, ONTARIO, CANADA, February 5, 2013 /Worldwide Who's Who/
-- Catherine Isabelle DeVos, Holistic Nutritionist for Catherine DeVos Holistic Nutrition, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in Holistic Nutrition.
A breast cancer survivor, Ms DeVos has been a longtime supporter of natural therapies such as raw whole foods, raw juices, and wheat grass. She is also an advocate of the more recent green smoothie movement. Her company, Catherine DeVos Holistic Nutrition, provides health and wellness services such as nutritional counseling, live blood cell microscopy, food preparation classes, and corporate nutrition and wellness programs. Ms DeVos also presents workshops, lectures and demonstrations on healthy living and food preparation. One of Catherine's biggest goals is to promote good nutrition and a better awareness of whole foods among teenagers in high schools in her community.
Ms DeVos has 30 years of experience in health and nutrition, with one year as owner of Catherine DeVos Holistic Nutrition. Her other areas of expertise include holistic health, wellness coaching, live cell microscopy, and nutritional solutions for mental disorders, ADHD and other conditions. She also demonstrates expertise in electrodermal screening (Biomeridian Stress Assessments), whole food prep and organic gardening. Prior to forming her own company, Ms DeVos worked as a research and policy analyst for the Workplace Safety & Insurance Board in Toronto, Canada. She has also managed and worked in several health food stores.
Attributing her success to her passion and belief that the human body can heal itself when it is given the proper tools, Ms DeVos was inspired to pursue her profession because of her curiosity of natural therapies. She developed a distrust of drug therapies after seeing no signs of improvement in her brother, who was diagnosed with Schizophrenia at age 14. After doing more research into food sensitivities and natural therapies, Ms. DeVos pursued a career path that involved healing without drugs.
In addition to her diploma in Applied Nutrition - (Holistic Nutrition - Clinical Nutritional Practitioner), Ms DeVos is also a member of the Canadian Association of Natural Nutritional Practitioners (CANNP), the Canadian Society of Orthomolecular Medicine (CSOM) and the Canadian Health Food Association (CHFA). Committed to community service, Ms DeVos also belongs to the Church of Christ of Latter-Day Saints and spends much of her spare time teaching Christian principles as a teacher on Sundays. Catherine describes her kitchen as "her playground" and enjoys showing her friends, neighbors and acquaintances how to use leafy greens to make tasty, fresh green drinks (green smoothies), to help them reverse disease.
She also enjoys organic year-round gardening and creating recipes in her spare time. In the years to come, she wants to continue networking, educating and growing her practice.
