Change Making Change Donations to Support Playing for Change in October
PFC supports music and arts education around the world
SEATTLE, WA, October 09, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Change Making Change Fund, (CMC) a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children around the world through the collection of pocket change, has selected California-based Playing for Change (PFC) as the recipient of non-designated donations in October 2013. All non-designated money donated this month to Change Making Change through convenient Coinstar kiosks will support the foundation's goal of bringing peace to the world through music by creating and supporting music schools in developing countries.
Since 2004, the PFC Foundation has created three schools and seven music programs in South Africa, Ghana, Mali, Nepal and Rwanda. In 2011, it joined forces with the 1Love Foundation to establish an annual Playing for Change Day to unify the global community through the power of music. Although the primary event was last month, participants worldwide are continuing to hold fundraisers throughout October.
"It's hard to measure the positive effect of music, but we know it has the power to lift spirits and to change lives," said Rich Stillman, founder, Change Making Change. "For elementary school children, music education has a direct correlation to increased skills in math, language and reasoning. By designating our collections to PFC this month, we can help the foundation ensure that communities in need of hope and inspiration continue to get support through music opportunities and education."
To participate, drop spare change at a local Coinstar kiosk that is programmed to accept donations and select Change Making Change Fund as the recipient.
