/24-7PressRelease/ -- Chef Charles E. Simms III, who has held a number of high-level management positions during his twenty-one year career in the restaurant and hospitality business, has been named Executive Chef of The Ryde Hotel & Event Center in Walnut Grove, CA.
Chef C was the Executive Chef of Jazzmen's Art of Pasta in Old Sacramento, assisting in the start up of the 500-seat restaurant, featuring an outdoor courtyard, dining and banquet room. He managed the kitchen of this popular family-owned business for eleven years.
Subsequent to his tenure with Jazzmen's, he was Owner/Operator of Chef Services, Unlimited. In addition to catering for many of Sacramento's famous players, Chef C acted as consultant for other restaurant and catering business owners.
Chef C has many culinary awards for superior food creations, including an award for "Best Food" at the American Express Taste the Nation Competition. He also won first place at the Marriage of Food and Wine for the Society of the Blind with his Crab Lasagna.
Among his many accomplishments, he was directly responsible for a 250-member health club working as a personal trainer and nutritional consultant responsible for production of banquets, special events and concerts, managing and training over sixty employees.
Chef C apprenticed with Chef Glen "Gator" Thompson, Owner of Alcatraz Restaurant in San Francisco and Neo Soul Cafe in San Mateo.
Ryde Hotel & Event Center is an historic Hotel located in the Sacramento County town of Walnut Grove.
