NEW YORK, NY, December 03, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Children's Brain Tumor Foundation (CBTF) is pleased to announce Mark Edmiaston has been named the organization's new president. Edmiaston, who previously worked for the American Cancer Society for 22 years, assumed the position effective November 18, 2013. Board Chairman Robert Budlow remarked, "We are delighted Mark has joined CBTF. His skills and experience in the nonprofit sector, and his passion for our mission to help children diagnosed with brain tumors and their families, are a wonderful mix for our organization as well as the children we help." ---
Every year, approximately 4,200 children in the United States (19 years old and younger) are found to have brain and spinal cord tumors; some are not diagnosed until their early twenties because pediatricians are often unaware of the symptoms. "I am thrilled to be part of this amazing organization," Edmiaston said, as he immerses himself into the world of CBTF. "Every patient and every family has a unique story. I look forward to helping CBTF rise to the next level, and be able to reach more families and fund more research across the country."
Most recently, Edmiaston served as the Chief Development and Community Engagement Officer for the Great West Division of the American Cancer Society where he was responsible for strategy and support for the Income Development program, Relay For Life program, Patient and Caregiver programs, marketing and communications, and training and resources.
