Herb enthusiasts all over the world submitted a total of 41 dynamic and imaginative videos showcasing their love for Mountain Rose Herbs. The contest featured a $1,000 cash prize and has drawn nearly 30,000 views on YouTube.
Employees at Mountain Rose Herbs viewed each video entry several times to judge for creativity, clarity, and messaging. After weeks of agonizing deliberation, Chives the Mouse was chosen as the grand prize winner. The video, created by Catherine Wing and Bill Buckendorf, features a hip, rapping mouse named Chives who rhymes her way through New York City alongside a few furry friends. On her journey, Chives delivers clever verses about the healing benefits of herbs while "giving props" to the Certified Organic and Fair Trade Standards at Mountain Rose Herbs. One of the most memorable parts of the video is when Chives "breaks it down" by rapping the Latin names of her favorite medicinal herbs like Passiflora incarnate and Glycyrrhiza glabra, with an enthusiastic, "in da house."
In addition to the winning video, some of the top contenders included an incredible Lego stop-motion animation and an enlightening video featuring the roaming Free Tea Party project. There was also a standout entry starring Kaine The Amazing Herbal Dog, and a beautifully conceptualized piece featuring delicious and invigorating creations made using Mountain Rose Herbs.
