As an occupational therapy supervisor for Eddy Cohoes Rehab Center, Mrs. VanDerwerker's responsibilities include overseeing six registered and licensed occupational therapists, conducting patient evaluations, therapy treatments for patients with physical disabilities, and driver training. With 16 years of experience in healthcare, her expertise is in assisting patients with physical disabilities and evaluating drivers. Mrs. VanDerwerker is also part of the adjunct clinical faculty at Mana College where she teaches the physical dysfunction course offered in the fall semester and has also given presentations at Russell Sage College on clinical reasoning.
Mrs. VanDerwerker received her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from D'Youville College in 1992 and is a Licensed Occupational Therapist. She has received several service excellence awards and hopes to continue in this industry in a supervisory position. Mrs. VanDerwerker attributes her success to her personal drive, determination and passion.
