She brings to her company 34 years of experience in education, having served the New York City Department of Education as a teacher for over three decades. She considers curing her daughter of a condition of cerebral palsy and her son of hyperactivity and retardation as her proudest accomplishments. A product of Hunter College, Ms. Murphy earned her Master's Degree in Elementary Education in 1966 and her Bachelor's Degree in History with minors in Education and Psychology, in 1963. She also holds a Sixth Year Certificate of Advanced Study in Administration from Richmond College.
