Monday, August 26th at 6:00 pm, Clarke Auction will sell lots of antiques, clean traditional furniture, fine art, carpets, and lighting consigned from estates throughout the Greater New York area.
Dining sets are headed by a triple pedestal banded dining table in great condition, and seven other quality traditional and mid-century dining suites, complete with matching chairs, sideboards and china cabinets.
Chairs and seating include clean matched Queen Anne-style armchairs, mid-century modern lucite and leather sofas and chairs, Louis XV-style giltwood settees, pairs of matching wingchairs, and traditional mahogany side chairs.
Baker furniture Two signed Baker leathertopped desks along with a Carlton-style desk will also be featured in this auction.
Carpet highlights are two 1993 Edward Field wool rugs, one signed by the artist Al Hirschfeld, handmade oriental carpets in small and room sizes, a vintage Navaho rung in good condition and an Aubusson-style carpet.
Decorative Arts include large amount of Italian polychromed pottery, bronze candelabra, stemware, Rosenthal China, and other pieces being catalogued as this goes to press.
Some examples of Fine Art are a collection of abstract and figurative paintings by the late Marion Lese, exhibited widely in Palm Beach galleries, French oils by Jean-Claude Mayodon, 19th C. English watercolors, a Corot Etching, and others still being uncovered.
Of special interest are twenty lots of clean
Lionel and Markin train sets, most with original boxes, including many locomotives from which to choose, just consigned from a White Plains location.
