COLUMBUS, OH, September 02, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Hyperlogistics Group, a leading central Ohio logistics and transportation provider, is privileged to announce it will transport a significant steel artifact recovered from the attack on American freedom and the World Trade Center in New York on September 11, 2001.

A procession will take place in uptown Westerville at 10:30 a.m. on September 11, 2009, when the steel artifact is delivered by Hyperlogistics. At noon, a September 11th Memorial Observance will be held at the Fire Station 111 in Westerville. The procession is open to all, and will mark the first public appearance of the historic piece of steel, which will become centerpiece to Westerville's First Responders Park.

United States District Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein, of New York, signed the WTC steel artifact, known as C-40, over to Westerville Fire Fighters Memorial organization on June 19, 2009. This unique piece of steel was one of a select few used in the federal investigation of the collapse of the Twin Towers. The piece of twisted steel was located on one of the floors where American Airlines Flight 11 impacted the North Tower on September 11th.

The final "transfer agreement" document was signed by Thomas Ullom, of the WFFM, and Christopher Ward, executive director of the Port Authority of NY/NJ. On July 24, 2009, C-40 officially became the property of the City of Westerville.

"It was kind of - I don't want to say eerie, but solemn - I had goose bumps just knowing what this used to be," Ullom said. "They have some of the pieces identified as actually being the place where Flight 11 hit the building and bent the steel back."

Ultimately, the piece will end up in the Westerville Firefighters Memorial & First Responders Park. It will be permanently memorialized in memory to those who gave their lives in attempts to save the victims of the September 11th attacks.

Hyperlogistics Group is grateful for attorney John Alden's help in facilitating this opportunity. For more information, please contact Christa Dickey at 614-901-6411.
