ATLANTA, GA, September 14, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Community Health Charities of the Southeast is pleased to welcome three new Board members, while helping employers promote a culture of health, giving and volunteerism in the workplace.---
One of every four employees is currently dealing with a chronic health issue, whether they are sick themselves or caring for someone they love. Community Health Charities of the Southeast partners with local companies to connect employees with the extensive resources and support programs of Georgia and Alabama's most trusted health charities.
The new members join our Board with extensive experience in a number of areas, including human resources, workplace health, nonprofit management and financial/investment services. They are:
• Nancy Colin, Executive Director of the ALS Association, Alabama Chapter (Huntsville, AL)
• Neil Knierim, Financial Advisor for the Principal Financial Group (Birmingham, AL)
• Renzie Richardson, Founder/Owner of Be Healthy for Life, LLC (Atlanta, GA)
"Personally and professionally, these three individuals are an ideal fit for Community Health Charities of the Southeast," said Sam Samorian, Chief Staff Liaison, Southern Region. "We know they will make valuable contributions as we work to provide Georgia and Alabama employees with 24/7 access to reliable health information, volunteer opportunities and the ability to give to the health causes they care about."
Free programs offered by Community Health Charities of the Southeast include Health Matters at Work (newsletters, webinars and podcasts) and Volunteer Matters 365 (a customizable search tool for local volunteer opportunities). Employees can also give to the health charities that are most important to them, an option that has proven to enhance any existing workplace giving program.
"Each of our new Board members brings something unique to the table, but they all share one common goal - helping people with chronic health issues," said Executive Director Brenda Horne. "It's critical that we maintain strong leadership at the Board level to reach employers who are not yet aware of Community Health Charities of the Southeast or the many ways we can enhance their health and wellness efforts."
