Science fiction writers have unprecedented opportunities to expand their intellect, their imagination and their writing skills, but it requires hard work. There is so much science to learn and so much technology to study, much more so than those SciFi idols had to absorb three or four decades earlier. Quite a challenge, quite an opportunity.
Today's science fiction writer must gain a broad understanding of the areas of science bordering his stories, and a deeper knowledge in fields critical to his work. Dan Ronco was a long-term IT executive as a General Manager with Microsoft, Senior Principal with Laventhol & Horwath and President, Software Quality Management. With degrees in Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering and Computer Science, his understanding of technology and its implications is exceptional.
