SPENCER, IA, June 5, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- David W. Lawrence, Director of Clinical Audiology for Northwest Iowa Ear, Nose and Throat, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of healthcare.

Mr. Lawrence has 37 years of professional experience in Research and Development, Clinical Audiology, Clinical Supervision, diagnosing and treating patients who have symptoms involving the Brain Stem, the balance system, tinnitus and chronic ear infections. He has dispensed over 12,000 hearing instruments.

He has published seventeen journal papers related to his endeavors in Audiology, with his name appearing on four patents involving hearing aid circuit design. He became interested in Audiology after helping a high school classmate receive treatment for an operable hearing loss.

From 1965 to 1968, he served in the United States Marine Corps, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant.

In 1972, he obtained his Bachelor's Degree from Arizona State University, with a double major in Audiology and Speech Pathology, and a minor in Clinical Psychology. He went on to receive his Masters Degree in 1974.

He is currently a Fellow in the American Academy of Audiology. His hobby is the sport of Powerlifting, and he holds seven American and two World records in that sport. He was inducted into the Powerlifting "Hall of Fame" in 1995.
