Rodriguez says that the search engines sometimes make it difficult for consumers to distinguish an actual local florist from a flower-ordering site. "The order gatherers don't add any value to the customer's flower order, but do add significant cost. Most consumers don't realize that they're not dealing with a local florist; they simply believe that's how the system works."
