/Worldwide Who's Who/ -- Deb Hescott, Business Manager of Tenders, External Relations and Strategy at Hunter TAFE, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in soliciting funding and client relationship management.
Ms. Hescott believes that her education made a tremendous difference in her life, and therefore, she sought to help individuals, communities and businesses seek funding to support training. She has spent the last five years of her 25-year career committed to this mission at Hunter TAFE. This has included working with a range of groups, much of this time working in equity. Currently holding the title of business manager of tenders, external relations and strategy, Ms. Hescott works with clients in any industry to secure funding.
Client relationship management has become one of her leading fortes, and it is pivotal to her work. Ms. Hescott is charged with managing Hunter TAFE's contracts and partnership agreements, as well as facilitating business development. Much of her success in these endeavors is a result of her passion, motivation and determination to help others achieve their goals.
She holds membership with the Hunter Women's Business Network, Women in Educational Leadership Network, Business Women's Connect Network, Business Chicks, Women on Boards, and United Nation Women. Furthermore, she is active in mentoring women and sits on two Governance Boards. These affiliations are significant to her ongoing success, and allow her to keep up to date with industry trends. Deb has also been a keynote speaker, presenter and facilitator at a number of conferences and events.
Ms. Hescott holds a degree in social science, an Associate Degree in Vocational Education and Training, and she has also undertaken postgraduate work in criminology. What is more, Ms. Hescott has become accredited in a number of areas, project management included. She has attained level-four certificates in each of the following subjects: front-line management, information technology, and training and assessment.
Ms. Hescott's personal interests involve helping disadvantaged groups, one particular cause which she is very passionate about is a charity that provides hope to families suffering from low vision or blindness. The charity, Retina Australia is committed to raising funds for research into the detection, prevention, treatment and cure of inherited retinal dystrophies. This is close to Ms. Hescott's heart as her family has been deeply affected by blindness. This motivation has led her to establish an online retail business (independent of her existing corporate role) which will be launched in 2013. The business, J'espere (
