/Worldwide Who's Who/ -- Denise J. Blevins, LSW, a resource family development specialist in the Youth Services Department for Latah County, Idaho, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in family development services.
Ms. Blevins has amassed nearly 30 years of professional experience in the field of social work. She specializes in juvenile justice, foster parent recruitment, education and licensing. In her role as resource family development specialist, she is responsible for conducting background checks and home-study programs. She is also concerned with verifying the eligibility of potential foster parents.
Prior to joining the Youth Services Department of Latah County, Ms. Blevins was a social worker for the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare. Throughout her career she has garnered a reputation of distinction for her hard work and dedication to the field. Despite having reached many of her professional goals, Ms. Blevins is most proud of her ability to train new social workers, and instill in them a sense of direction and purpose. She hopes that, in their training, they will accrue the same dedication she has to provide exemplary youth services to those in need in the area's five counties. The most gratifying aspect of her career is ensuring that children find safe homes.
Ms. Blevins received a bachelor of arts in sociology in 1983 from the University of Idaho. She is a chairwoman on the Grants Committee and the Ethics Committee for the Idaho Juvenile Justice Commission. In 1994 and 2009, she was distinguished as the Line Worker of the Year by the Idaho Juvenile Justice Association, of which she is also a member. Ms. Blevins will be featured in an upcoming edition of Pro-Files Magazine. She was selected for inclusion in the Top 101 Industry Experts publication. She was recognized with the Lifetime Achievement accolade from Worldwide Who's Who.
