Dermatologist in Orange County Has Injected 1 Million Units of BOTOX

Dr. Lorrie Klein has been using BOTOX Cosmetic since 1998, and the dermatologist in Orange County recently passed an impressive mark with more than 1 million units injected. Dr. Klein's experience attracts patients from around the country.

LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA, January 26, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Lorrie Klein of OC Dermatology estimates that she's injected more than 1 million units of BOTOX Cosmetic since she began offering the product in 1998. The board-certified dermatologist based in Orange County has been awarded Black Diamond status by Allergan, BOTOX's parent company. Black Diamond status is reserved for high-volume practices and includes the top 1% of providers in the United States.

"I'm thrilled to reach this milestone in my practice," Dr. Klein says. "It's an honor to realize that so many women and men have trusted me with their looks and their health, especially considering the number of BOTOX injectors in Southern California."

Dr. Klein says that, although there are numerous providers offering BOTOX in Orange County, the experience of the practitioner should be foremost in any prospective patient's mind.

"BOTOX is a powerful product. Although it may be tempting to make a decision based on cost, location, or other factors, choosing a doctor who has an advanced familiarity with the product and the anatomy of the face can make a world of difference in your comfort and long-term outcome," she says.

BOTOX contains a purified form of botulinum toxin that temporarily relaxes the muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles (those formed by repetitive movement). BOTOX Cosmetic is FDA-approved for treating glabellar lines, which are small, vertical wrinkles between the eyes, as well as crow's feet. BOTOX is also effective at treating medical conditions caused by overactive muscles, including hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating. Dr. Klein uses the product for both purposes at her Orange County dermatology practice.

"BOTOX results are subtle and natural-looking," Dr. Klein says. "A lot of people have a misconception about it leaving them looking 'frozen' or unexpressive, and that's simply not the case if it's administered by an experienced physician."

Together with her staff, Dr. Klein is looking forward to many more years of BOTOX administration, as well as ongoing advancements related to the product's usage.

"Although BOTOX has been around for decades, it was approved for cosmetic use in 2002. Since that time, approved uses have expanded to include crow's feet," she says. "Research into its effectiveness for various aesthetic and medical uses is ongoing, and it's very exciting to think of how that information will shape my practice and the well-being of my patients."
