NEWPORT BEACH, CA, April 20, 2010
/24-7PressRelease/ -- Los Angeles Designer Lauren Elaine returns to her hometown of San Diego as a special guest speaker and headlining designer for the San Diego Women's Week 'Fashion and the Arts' Event on Friday, April 23rd 2010. Joined by fellow Designers Malgorzata and Gordana, the event will feature the Lauren Elaine F/W 2010 Black Label Collection as the finale runway show, followed by candid panel discussion with the designers and other industry experts. Held at the Sabre Springs Corporate Center, the event marks the second showing of the Lauren Elaine F/W 2010 Black Label collection, straight off the runway from it's LA Fashion Week debut on March 22, 2010.
For Lauren Elaine, who grew up in San Diego and graduated from Poway High School, San Diego Women's Week is not only a welcome opportunity to debut her newest collection to her hometown, but also a chance to support, inspire, and empower women and encourage growth within San Diego's fashion scene. "Women's involvement and influence in the fashion industry goes without saying- and I'm definitely excited to be involved in another event that continues to bring fashion to the mainstream in San Diego," says Elaine- who debuted her S/S 2010 collection on the finale evening at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Downtown in Escondido last April.
Joining Lauren Elaine for this endeavor are two other San Diego natives- Miss California Teen USA 2010 Emma Baker, and LA-based recording artist, model, and actress Kayslee Collins. Both models for the Lauren Elaine (LE) label, Emma and Kayslee will strut the catwalk presenting the new cocktail dresses and gowns. Both have walked in runway shows for Lauren Elaine at LA Fashion Week, and Kayslee can be seen as the "face" of the LE Black Label Accessories Collection.
Approximately 15 looks from the new 30-piece collection will debut down the runway at San Diego Women's Week. For Lauren Elaine, whose overall mission as a designer is recreating the princess-archetype for the modern woman, Fall 2010 reflects a chance to explore a slightly darker, edgier side with a coquettish twist. Taking inspiration from the classic tale of "Little Red Riding Hood," the new collection features the classic vintage shapes of past collections, but in such bold fabric choices as black metallic animal print brocades, rich jewel-toned silks, antique laces, and in shapes with exaggerated bell sleeves, sharp asymmetrical ruffled necklines, and mini baby doll strapless cocktail dresses. Since launching the label in 2009, Lauren Elaine has secured much popularity and a celebrity following for her ultra-femme, effortlessly elegant gowns and truly unique dresses- frequently making appearances in magazines on the red carpet.
Doors open at 5pm on Friday, April 23rd for the 'Fashion and the Arts' segment of San Diego Women's Week, with 7:15pm runway shows for Designers Malgorzata and Gordana, followed by a 7:45pm debut of the F/W 2010 Black Label Collection. Panel discussion to follow.
