The company was ranked ninth of the 30 companies included in the medium category of 150-499 workers. Gold Star received honors for outstanding results in company direction, execution of its business plan, career development and management.
Over the summer WorkplaceDynamics worked with the Detroit Free Press to conduct a survey to Gold Star Mortgage Financial Group employees. According to The Detroit Free Press, the survey drew responses from 32,363 employees at 173 employers throughout southeast Michigan. Employees were asked to rate his or her organization's performance according to 23 distinct statements designed to evaluate the company's direction, ability to execute its business plan, leadership, career development, work conditions and pay and benefits. They were also asked to provide an overall score for their company, ranging from 0-99. WorkplaceDynmanics compared responses of businesses across Southeast Michigan to determine which firms qualified as a "Top Workplace."
"Everyone here is held to a high standard. The support of the management allows us to keep a high level of performance. Also, the company's culture calls for people to hold themselves to high standard," one Gold Star employee said.
