NASHVILLE, TN, September 17, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Do you want to write better, more commercial songs? Would you like to increase the gift you already have? Would you like to find a 'home' for the songs already created?

After 3 years as Professor of Songwriting at Trevecca University, and learning how to impart what she has learned as a 20 year professional songwriter with over 200 major recording credits, numerous Grammy nominations, ASCAP Awards, NSAI Awards, and a Dove/GMA Award for Song of the Year, Kim McLean has fine-tuned a creative system of fundamentals to actually help the burgeoning songwriter find their voice commercially. And these same fundamentals can help the person who wants to write songs for their children, family events, weddings, special occasions, their church, and the exciting world of writing for TV/film.

With Kim McLean at the helm of the teaching panel, participants will dig deep into what makes a song commercial, competitive, and complete. As a career Nashville songwriter, Kim McLean has had songs recorded by country artists like Tim McGraw, Lee Ann Womack, and Trisha Yearwood, but also outside the country format with a GMA Gospel Song of the Year for The Martins, a Grammy nominated R&B recording by Bettye Lavette, and songs in CBS' JAG, Early Edition, As the World Turns, Cold Case, NBC's West Wing, and ABC's Hope & Faith. There will be discussion about crafting great songs that work in all genres.

Participants are to bring a notebook, pens, pencils, a legal pad, and recording of the information is encouraged. Registered songwriters are encouraged to bring their best song to work on as the intensive takes place.
