Dr. Lydia Caros Recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Pediatric Health Care

    MINNEAPOLIS, MN, March 5, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Lydia Caros, Chief Executive Officer of Native American Community Clinic, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in pediatric health care.

With nearly three decades of experience in the field of health care, Dr. Caros specializes in general pediatrics and fetal alcohol syndrome. She brings her experience and expertise to the role of CEO of Native American Community Clinic. Dr. Caros, who co-founded the health center in 2002, splits her day between handling administrative duties and seeing pediatric patients. Though the center treats patients of all backgrounds, it strives to enhance wellness and regular health maintenance in Native American families and to decrease the health disparities of Native Americans in the metropolitan area of Minneapolis, Minn. Furthermore, it offers access to quality health care regardless of a patient's ability to pay. Dr. Caros attributes her success to her commitment to serving others.

Dr. Caros earned a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Des Moines University Medical School in 1980. She went on to complete an internship at Iowa Methodist Medical Center and a residency in pediatrics at the Mayo Clinic. In the years to come, Dr. Caros plans to focus on many projects pending with the clinic, including implementing electronic medical records. She also looks forward to retirement.
