Driflex Oil Conditioning System from Pentair Industrial Provides Complete Free, Emulsified and Dissolved Water Removal

SHEBOYGAN, WI, May 11, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Pentair Industrial Driflex Oil Conditioning System removes water and contaminants, extending equipment life for a broad range of industrial and mobile lubrication and hydraulic systems. Driflex is more cost-effective, conveniently sized and simple to maintain than vacuum purifiers--with no moving parts or flow/level controls to adjust. A Driflex system can be dedicated to a specific reservoir, delivering continuous conditioning and ensuring that oil is optimized without the fluctuations in water concentration that occur with periodic oil purification or replacement. Its compact design also makes it an ideal solution for periodic use on reservoirs throughout an entire facility.

Driflex uses basic mass transfer principles to attain oil dehydration. Moisture diffuses from regions of high concentration to low--such as from oil contaminated with moisture to dry air. Oil is initially pumped from its reservoir through Driflex's high efficiency particle filter. This filter cleans the oil, protecting the system's dehydration contactor from damage. Next, the oil flows through Driflex's dehydration contactor, while extremely dry air flows over the outside. The moisture is transferred from the oil to the air because of the moisture differential within the contactor, and is then exhausted out of the system as moisturized air. The oil returns to the reservoir--with no wastewater or other disposables generated throughout the process.

Typically, 70-80% of lubricated equipment wear and failures is the result of oil contamination from dirt and water. Driflex lessons water concentration and improves particulate filtration effectiveness, improving oil condition and decreasing equipment wear. This sophisticated oil conditioning technology allows considerable savings in operation and maintenance expenses. For instance, reducing water concentration from 250 ppm to 40 ppm can triple bearing life, lowering replacement and labor costs--and increasing overall profitability. With its easy, dependable operation, the cost-effective Driflex system enhances equipment performance and optimizes service life.
