IRVINE, CA, October 02, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- A dyslexia simulation will be held on November 3rd at the Stowell Learning Center in Irvine, CA. The purpose of the simulation is for participants to experience first-hand the daily challenges facing children with reading problems.

This is a fun, but eye-opening experience that can help anyone working with children with reading problems to better understand and help remove or at least diminish the frustration these children feel.

It is very difficult to understand how a smart child can struggle with reading and even harder to imagine what it must feel like to actually HAVE the condition...to live each and every day wading unsuccessfully through a world of print. That's the critical piece that training generally lacks, often causing these children to be viewed as lazy or unmotivated.

After attending a Dyslexia Simulation, one parent of a 12-year old student said, "Now I really understand what my daughter is going through. No wonder we have tears everyday over homework."

Developed by Drs. Joe and Carol Utay from Pittsburg, the simulation will place participants in a classroom setting and have them experience a variety of dyslexic challenges while trying to complete assignments. Throughout the simulation, participants can ask questions and discuss their experiences.

The simulation will be held on Saturday November 3rd from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Stowell Learning Center, 1150 Main Street Suite C, Irvine, CA 92614.

While the event is held as a free service to parents and professionals, they request that you make a reservation so that materials can be ready for all who attend.

Jill Stowell, owner of Stowell Learning Centers says, "Having a reading problems makes almost everything about school and homework more difficult. Knowing someone really understands goes a long way."
